I Wanna Destroy You
"But you're not Cinderella. You're one of the woodland creatures who helps her get dressed."
It's June 24th 2011 and as Marriage Equality is being passed in New York State, one gay man is having the worst day of his life. Beau is the personal assistant to the famous (and famously demanding) romance novelist Cecile Collins who is about to get married. When his longtime boyfriend dumps him on his 30th birthday and an old frenemy reappears, Beau is forced to reevaluate his so called life. I Wanna Destroy You is an unlikely romantic comedy that tears the trope of the gay sidekick to shreds.
Starring Geneva Carr*, Jamie Jackson*, Anthony Johnston*, Preston Martin, Kieran Mulcare, and Kathy Searle*

Happy Earth Day!
April 22nd, 2013
At Hand Theatre would like to wish you a happy, healthy, and super green Earth Day! It is part of our mission to create theatre that is not only original and entertaining, but also eco-friendly. For the past three years, we have commemorated Earth Day by presenting Broadway Recycled, an evening of songs from the contemporary Broadway [...]
Mission
At Hand Theatre Company's mission is to produce original work using sustainable means.
We give both emerging and established playwrights the chance to find their voices without having to be concerned with production values. Our directors, designers, and actors work collaboratively with playwrights on original texts - helping them shape the script, discussing relevant themes, negotiating the language of the play, and focusing the storytelling. At Hand's theatrical productions are created using environmentally conscious means, with limited materials. We have been disturbed with the impact theatre leaves on our carbon footprint and feel that waste is not a "necessary evil" for producing quality theatre. Rather than building an entire set and creating several elaborate costumes for each production, we explore simple, creative solutions that are cost effective, eco-friendly and engage the imagination of the audience.
At Hand Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre company.
